A note from Carly
If you're reading this, part of you wants out of your career. Another part keeps telling you it isn't possible for someone like you.
Your current reality looks something like this. The alarm goes off, you realise it's a workday, and the dread settles in. The night before, you were up until 10pm watching how-to-start-a-business videos. Maybe you've even bought the domain name for a business that doesn't exist yet, telling yourself you'll start properly after the summer, or after Christmas, or after the next bonus. And underneath it all there is a lack of belief, either in your own ability to make it happen or in your ability to find a business idea you'd be passionate about.
I built the Freedom First membership for exactly that person, because I was exactly that person. This page tells you everything: what's inside, how it works, who it's for and who it isn't, and what it costs. Read it with a cup of tea and decide in your own time.

Why this exists
When I left my finance career, I opened a notebook, wrote "ideas" at the top of the page, and stared at it. The page stayed blank. I turned over and wrote "Am I crazy??" at the top of the next one. I still have that notebook. I kept it as a reminder that if I can do it, anybody can.
It took me 18 months and most of my savings to figure out what I wanted to do, because I had no process. What I had instead was pressure, a blank page, and every mistake in the book.
So I studied hundreds of people who had successfully changed their lives, and the ones who succeeded all followed the same framework: find the right idea, prove real people want it, then launch. Freedom First is that framework, built into a portal, with me and a community of people on the same path alongside you.
The goal is simple
To get you from stuck in a career to running a freedom-first business. Not just any business that could replace your salary, but one where the business model itself is designed around the freedom you actually want, across your four freedoms: time, location, meaning and purpose, and financial.
Here's what that looks like from the other side. Sunday evening arrives and you feel excited to start the new week. The dread that used to come with your alarm is gone. You feel lighter, you stand a little taller, and your relationships with the people around you are easier. You've even stopped doing the retirement maths, because you'd happily carry on doing this anyway.
How it works
You join from one of three stages:
- Burnt out, no idea yet
- Got the idea, need to get moving
- Started, but not free yet
The path takes you from finding your idea (if you don't already have it) to launching it, and in between you prove people actually want it before you build anything. That part is simpler than it sounds. The portal helps you build a single page describing what you're planning, with a space for interested people to leave their name and email address. Then, for seven days, you follow one step a day showing you exactly where to share that page so it lands in front of the kind of people it's built to help. You don't need an audience, and you don't need to announce your plans to everyone you know. By the end of the week, either you're looking at a list of people who want what you're planning, or you've learned what to change before spending a year building the wrong thing.
But what matters more is what being a member actually looks like. You log in and there is always one clear next step waiting, never a wall of content to wade through. You set a commitment with a deadline, and a small group of members expects to hear the outcome, done or not. When your idea is ready to test, that's the week you run your seven days. Once a month, we get on a live call and work through whatever you're stuck on.
That rhythm is the method. One clear next step, always with a deadline, always with people who notice. Week by week, the thing you've been circling for years becomes the thing you did this week.
What's inside
This isn't a library of videos you're left to wade through. The portal is built as an interactive system that works with what you put into it. The idea you choose flows through everything that follows, so each tool you open is already set up around your business instead of presenting you with a blank template. When you're stuck choosing between ideas, the system filters and rates them for you. When you're stuck on what to do next, it suggests the way forward. And for everything a system can't answer, there are people: the community, your accountability group, a live group coaching call every month, and while the founding group is small, feedback that comes directly from me.
You won't do it alone
When I researched this market, people kept saying the same thing: they wanted structure, accountability, and community, without the four-figure price tag the big programmes charge. So that's what I built.
The community has a space for every stage of the process. You'll post your idea shortlist and your validation data for feedback, and right now, while the founding group is small, that feedback includes mine, directly. Once a month there's a live group coaching call where your pre-submitted questions get answered.
And if accountability is the thing you know you need, it's built in. I'll be honest about something. In my finance career, I thought I was lazy. If nobody was chasing me for a piece of work, it didn't get done, and I feared that would follow me into working for myself. It never did, because laziness was never the problem. I'd been putting off work I didn't enjoy doing, and once the work excited me, the chasing stopped being necessary. You might not believe that applies to you yet, and you don't have to, because the membership is built for the stretch before you feel it.
Lessons unlock in sequence, so there is always one clear next step. The validation sprint runs on a 7-day clock. And you can request to join an accountability group: a small group of members who post weekly commitments with deadlines and report the outcome either way, done or not. Go quiet for a week and your seat opens up for someone else. If it's accountability you want, it's accountability you'll get.
Is this for you?
This is for you if:
- You're burnt out in your career and want out, but you have no idea what business you'd start
- Or you've got the idea, and every time you sit down to start, the how of it all overwhelms you and another month slips by
- Or you've started, and you want to turn what you've built into a business that actually delivers the freedom you started it for
- You're willing to put in the work
This is not for you if:
- You're looking for a passive income scheme or a side hustle that promises big money for minimal effort
- You want someone to hand you a ready-made business rather than go through the work of finding the right one for you
- You're still focused on climbing the career ladder and optimising for title, salary, and the next promotion
Because I'll be upfront: I've built the tools to do as much of this for you as possible, but the ideas, the outreach, and the effort are yours. There's no doubt about it, the more work you put in, the more you'll get out.
The investment
Freedom First is £35 a month right now, as a founding member. And here's my promise: it stays £35 for as long as you're a member. When the price rises to £47, yours doesn't. You're part of building this, and your price is locked from day one. If you cancel and come back later, you rejoin at the new price.
There's no contract and no tie-in. If it's not for you, you cancel in two clicks. That's the entire risk.
And if your real fear is joining with good intentions, drifting, and having to cancel one more thing that didn't work out, that fear is precisely what the structure above exists to prevent. There is always one next step waiting for you, and if you go quiet, somebody notices.
